There are still ways to disappear And with some grace, I get gone when I’m here My breath is smoke, my flesh is mirror Just like the stars Your light takes time to find its way to my eyes If you can see me, I cannot see you You must be hiding in full view Red, orange, yellow, green and blue Your shadow bleeds and bleeds back into you Like a prison cell, this prism swells with light that can’t escape ‘Cept for one way: to break It’s getting late And like a baby when I cover my face I am invisible and so are you We must be hiding in full view

Predict the past Within a frame, it is lasting and strange Toward each other or away forever We are a blur under the trees Climb the light The sun is sinking and begs to be night In the trap of a web or a dream We are a slur of silent beams

Ocean Man 03:31
I fell in love with an ocean man I fell in love with this bright blue plan Is it love if you don’t let it destroy you? Sometimes I am a sleeping bird Sometimes I wake and see the stars Is it freedom if you don’t know you have it?

In the palace of the past it’s the pain that lasts It’s alabaster, it’s disaster, it’s cold Oh, the mirage of memory I get there, it’s gone I never thought of treachery so absentee Some may say free I never thought of you anymore than what of you were when you were a boy I never thought to say what didn’t matter, the matter was out of our hands Out of our heads You were my favorite man It’s a light, and a shuffle The feed is pretty weak It’s a scar from a scuffle You had when you were asleep Some may say free I never thought of you anymore than what of you were when you were a boy I never thought to say what didn’t matter, the matter was out of our hands I never dreamed a death any different than a drowner who drags you below I never dove into your sea of darkness, I’m sorry, Man, I had my own I had my own You were my favorite man.

Take me to the ocean Put me in an eggshell Watch me swirl blindly Let me twirl downwards I can’t touch the seafloor I can’t see the surface Gonna keep on droppin’ Droppin’ ‘til I’m soakin Portrait Ekstatis Ripped up like Orpheus Chewed up Dionysus Screaming Persephone

Under a Texas moon We’re drifting like feathers Trapped in a haunted room We draw on the walls the heroes who left us to roam To the edge of the asphalt To the edge of the parking lot I forgot Just how the way To relevé in roller skates And you were there to guide me I’ll be your Baby, you’re my Patrick Swayze Ever the wounded hearts Let’s walk to the city and make our confessions Don Quixote and Joan of Arc We’re armored in wonder and nothing can harm us.
9.
I was runnin,’ runnin’ from the law Oh, but I had to stop- you were all I saw I was put in, I was put in a cage with no key, but no matter I was already free There you were and my heart was on fire Wildfire, roarin’ cross the plane There you were and my heart was on fire Wildfire, runnin’ from the rain I was fakin,’ fakin’ my own death It took more work than I’d guess, holding all that breath I was buried, buried in the ground It took gettin’ lost to be gettin’ found There you were and my heart was on fire Wildfire, roarin’ cross the plane There you were and my heart was on fire Wildfire, runnin’ from the rain Oh… I was diggin,’ diggin’ to the sea Somewhere along the way I wrote this serenade I was rescued, rescued on a boat with no name Fever sleeping, dreaming just the same Dream and the dream was There you were and my heart was on fire Wildfire, roarin’ cross the plane There you were and my heart was on fire Wildfire, runnin’ from the rain

Hollow 03:19
Would you rather be hollow? Within the edges of an echo? Inside the empty of a tunnel? Would you rather be hollow? Under the branches of a willow? Inside the bones of a dove? And what is love if not an open door? And what is love if not needing more? I’ve seen its traces in hidden places. I’ve followed emptiness down to the core.

Got scorched earth on my heels What the memory burned away Is a hole that's hungrier than anything ever And a melody that won’t play It was silent in the field When the sun went down that day You looked at me, Lover, like the wrong end of a shovel And I knew it was time to pay Primitive debts. Rogue planets find the sun We drift around then away from the one Who’s mapping circles for others to trail I’ve got too much gravity, there’s too much fire in me To follow a path that is already given Gotta move on, gotta get gone Out like a light in an electrical storm Gotta dig in, gotta begin Into the night, gonna run ‘til I’m home And that means I got nowhere to run to Sometimes you burn the bridge because you got to burn something Got scorched earth on my heels What the memory burned away Is a hole you can’t cover without digging another And a melody baked in clay It was silent in the field When the sun came up that day The ash learned to harden and grow into a garden And we never again will pay Primitive debts.
